I fight demons without flinching,
I run into battle with a smirk on my face.
But when my flesh shows up,
Somehow I shudder in fear,
Knowing that my flesh knows my weaknesses too well,
I don’t even get into battle,
I give up and give in.
How?!
Father in Heaven,
How do I subdue this flesh of mine?!
Flee, He says,
Flee like your life depends on it!
That’s the only way to deal with your flesh.
Until you enter the gates of heaven,
Keep running, Child,
Keep running towards Me.
