Show up!

I remember the wilderness,

I remember like it was yesterday.

I remember crying out day and night,

I remember holding back sobs,

I remember sorrow clutching my throat,

I remember my Faith being tossed to and fro.

I remember the panic attacks,

The rocking back and forth,

The fear spirals that never ended,

The what-ifs that my mind kept conjuring up.

I remember them all,

Like it was yesterday.

I remember asking You to show up and show off, Father.

And I am glad I did.

Because, from where I stand today,

I look back, only to see your fingerprint all over my life,

The people I have met,

The places I have been,

The parties I have missed,

And the heartbreaks along with it.

You have kept you word, My Lord,

You have shown up and shown off,

In a way that only you can do.

Thank You. 🙂

And for every other time,

You would ask me to wait,

May my heart remember that you are the God –

Who never fails to show up,

At just the right time.

Not a second early and not an iota late.

For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!

Isaiah 64:4 NLT

Sit still, He says, In the middle of the storm… Sit still, He says, With the ocean raging on… Sit still, He says – Close by my side, For there you will find shelter, And strength like never before.
