“The world is falling apart”,
I say with a sigh.
To my Father in Heaven,
Who replies with a chuckle,
A chuckle nonetheless.
“The world fell apart in the Garden of Eden, Child.
Long ago,
Long long ago!”
“Appa! I am not kidding!” I retort, with a smirk,
Which is quickly replaced by worry.
Leaning in, He says,
“I know that you are falling apart, though
I have seen you pacing back and forth,
Wishing you could make the uncertainties go away,
I have heard your whispered prayers,
And, Darling, I Got You!!
I, the one who suspended the planets on literally nothing,
The one who calmed the raging sea,
The one who made the sun stand still,
I, the Lord of the universe.
I Got You!
I will sit with you through your panic attacks,
I will hold your hand through the long nights,
And when you start spiralling into your “what ifs”…
I will steady your anxious heart.
Lean into my strength, My dear
Fix your eyes on me alone,
We got this,
You and me,
One day at a time!
Okay!?”
God, you’re such a safe and powerful place to find refuge! You’re a proven help in time of trouble— more than enough and always available whenever I need you. So we will never fear even if every structure of support were to crumble away. We will not fear even when the earth quakes and shakes, moving mountains and casting them into the sea. For the raging roar of stormy winds and crashing waves cannot erode our faith in you. Pause in his presence.
