Everything?!

Romans 8:28

Everything happens for good, for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.

Everything!? Huh!?

Yep!

The good, the bad, the ugly,

The abandonment, the pain, the loss,

The trauma that still makes you shudder when you think of it,

That incident which shattered your heart into a million pieces,

That boring job that God doesn’t want you to leave,

That dysfunctional family that you have been born into,

The level of poverty that always seemed to stick around,

That weird set of skills that seem to serve no purpose at this moment,

The inadequacy that seems so unsurmountable,

That addiction that seems to be terribly addicted to you and just won’t leave you alone.

Your plans that never came to pass,

Your spouse who is still MIA ( Missing In Action),

This season of singleness that seems to stretch way too long.

The marriage that is messier than you expected,

The calling that isn’t as cozy as you expected,

The things that make you tear up in a second,

The events that have altered your defense mechanism.

Yep!

Everything, everything happens for good, for those who love the Lord and who have been called according to His purpose.

But wait,

Do you love the Lord!?

Are you living in His purpose for you!?

Are you, now!?

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
