Burdened
Walking around with my invisible burden, I wonder, Does anyone notice it at all!? Can they see the downcast-ness of my soul!? Or the slumped shoulders!? Sighing loudly I keep walking, “I had a burden too once”, said He, Looking up, I realised it was my Saviour, Come to save me today, just like He did 2000 yrs ago, “You did!?”, I asked, “Yep, and I had to trudge it up a very rugged hill, My child.” He replied. Your burden sure is heavy, And I know you’d gladly drop it, if given the chance, But I ask that you carry it all the way, For there is a view that you can see only from the mountain top, There is a Love, that you can find only when you are nailed to the cross. Matthew 16:24-26 NIV Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”
